Back to school.

School starts tomorrow!! yeah!! Bridey is excited and so am I! lol
I'm glad she loves school makes things so much easier!
Oh she HAD to shave he legs before going to school this year. She said she just couldn't wear shorts or dresses untl she shaved. I was going to make her wait until 7th grade like I did but I changed my mind. Her legs were very hairy so I could see the embarrassment.....I told her she could only shave with the electric razor and not above the knee. She's so thrilled!
They will be having lockers for the first time this year, she's in 5th grade now and the top of the school. All i have heard this last few days was she needed things to "trick out" her locker. I don't think I recall ever wanting to decorate my locker when I was in school. Oh well, if she is good this week and has a good first week of school I might take her to get a few things for it.

getting bridey inspired.

Well, Bridey has been inspired to read more thanks to Lawanda and her girls! Thank goodness! I've tried to get her to read more but this summer has been no good. She didn't want to at all. But now that she read Lawanda's post about her girls she went right in and picked up a book, she is even taking notes so she can write a book report for me.
While the school year is in she reads quite a bit because she likes doing the accelerated reader program and then when she was in her summer program last month she was reading a book a week there, it was reading arts program so they focused on reading and activities dealing with the bocks they read. So that was good. But she just wouldn't read on her own, now thanks to Lawanda and the girls she (at least for today) has started reading just to be reading. YEAH!!
Now if we can just work on the math! lol

Bridey's therapy

Bridey has been terrible and acting up so bad over the last year, I've been ready to pull my hair out. We have been threatening her with taking her to the therapist hoping she would straighten up and it didn't work so when her grades started falling at the end of this last school year we finally decided to just do it. Her first appointment was last week, and she went again yesterday. She really likes it so far. So I am hoping this will help the situation. Her therapist told me to talk to her teachers this year and have them on the look out for her being inatintive(sp) she said it could be that she has a slight case of ADHD but she wants to watch her and get teachers input before she decides. Which makes me glad we picked this doctor instead of the ones that just pass out the pills before getting any info from the child, I'd reather her be right instead of just doping up my kid. She said that it runs in families (which I didn't know, course I don't know much about it at all) but Bridey has lots of cousins that are on the ADHD meds. As a matter of fact most of them are on medication to keep them calm. Which I don't think is always a good thing. Anyway....... So hopefully this next year will be better!!

mom's and sinks.

Alright, I'm a TERRIBLE blogger!
I have't posted here or myspace for a while. Well to be honest I've hardly been on the computer for more than 5 minutes at a time in well over a week. I never seem to have time lately.
My biological mother is in for a week so i've been running to mom's to visit more than usual and John and I are trying to fix my kitchen sink. It started leaking and we didn't realize it so the bottom needed torn out and replaced. it's about half done. We have to try to work on it when he isn't working. So everything that was under my sink and in the two cabnets on either side of the sink is now sitting on my table or whereever I can pile it. I hate messes like that, I can NOT wait till it gets done so I can put everything back. And anyone that knows me knows the relationship with the biological mother isn't the best but I do feel obligated to visit and be nice plus going to mom's to visit the biological keeps her from wanting to come to my house to visit. And yes I now how terrible that sounds, but that is the relationship we have.
*sigh*
