to cold

I think it is to cold out today for Bridey's track meet. UGH! Her first meet is tonight, and it is cold and rainy. It is 1:30 pm and only 50 degrees, with a high of 56 expected. i don't think it will get to 56 but even if it does that isn't much better. Not my idea of fun sitting out in the cold and rain with a toddler watching a track meet. I am hoping the postpone but I don't think they will. :(
I'd sit in the car with Jake but I don't want Bridey to think we don't care about what she is doing. I guess I'll figure it out at 4:30 when we have to be there. Cross you fingers we don't all get pneumonia.

I have to say though that it just drives me crazy they price they charge for these. $40 for 1 - 8x10, 2 - 5x7, 4 - 3x5 and 9 - wallets It's crazy!! You can get three times that amount for the price at Wal-mart or heck even better I take much better pictures than these and can do them on the computer. But your kid feel bad if you don't order them and they are the only ones being left out of getting them. It's nothing but a big ole scam! I usually buy the smallest and cheapest thing they have so Bri can say she got one and I do have the yearly school picture. But to had out to family I take my own pictures of her and print up to hand out.

Singing

Bridey has a video game called High School Musical Sing It. It's like a karaoke for the High School Musical movies. Jake loves to play with when she has it out and tries to sing. He's not bad at the oohhhh ooohhh's.

Jake's first girlfriend

this was Jake's first girlfriend. We were at the spring carnival at Bridey's school in March. I am not sure who this little girl belonged to she was wondering around without a parent But she sure took a liking to Jake. She followed him around and kept trying to hug and kiss him. At first he was a little scared of her, he kept trying to get away but then he finally I think was curious because he would stay with her but looked at her like "what is wrong with you" lol It was very funny.

Social studies pictures

I have posted about Bridey's Social Studies Fair Project a few times so I figured I would show some pictures since I finally downloaded them.

This is a closer shot of their report and the memoirs of the people they researched. They researched they Colson Family that had lived on Bridey's Grandparents farm back in the 1800's. We had old photo's and memories written by two of the family members and there is a graveyard on top of the hill out there with one of the family members buried there and a civil war solider and a baby.








This is Bridey and Teyha right after getting there honorable mention ribbons. They were disappointed.

Bridey loves having her picture taken and taking pictures. So she has a habit of taking my camera or my phone and taking pictures of herself. She is a hoot! Here are a few she took on April 11th and I thought were just to cute not to share.

Music Festival '08

I am a little late in posting this. The music festival was at the beginning of the month but I just downloaded the pictures last night. I'm slow at that sort of thing. Anyway it was the first music festival I had been to since I sang in one in the 4Th grade.........A WAY LONG TIME AGO!!

It was very nice though. They sang a lot of things from a medley of the beach boys best songs to songs from the Lion King and Songs about America. They did some cute little "dances" for lack of a better word with the songs. The last one was called American Tears, which is a beautiful song. It was very nice and me being the softly that I am.......(I can cry over anything) got choked up listening to it. The kids kid a great job which included Bridey and her Martin school choir. :)

Track practice

Yesterday was only a half day of school so instead of having track practice up at the elementary school like usual from 3pm to 4pm. We had to go to Ericson All Sports Facility at 3pm to let her run track. This was a pretty good thing. The elementary school doesn't have a track to practice on, and last year when they went to the meets they weren't very prepared. So it was nice that they got to practice on a real track before the meet. Hopefully they will do better this year. The only bad thing was sitting on the metal bleachers with Jake while she ran. He had fun and I had fun watching him play on them but when we got home I realized we both had sunburns on our face and necks. UGH!

Silly Bridey always thinks she is going to a fashion show (doesn't help that she likes a boy on the team) so instead of wearing regular running clothes she had to wear a cute outfit....it just happened to be brown and she was burning up. lol But she wouldn't listen to mama, she had to look pretty.

Mr. Darcy's Diary

I won this wonderful book on Lawanda's blog. It is as the name says the diary of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. Lawanda brought it to me yesterday afternoon and we had a nice visit. Been forever since we had seen each other and I enjoyed the visit.
I started reading the book after I put Jake to bed last night and finished a little while ago. I LOVED IT. I was a little dissapointed that it ended so soon. I would have loved for it to go on. 'Course I loved Pride and Prejudice as well. So I knew before I started reading last night that I would really enjoy this book.

Happy birthday John

I may be a few days late but at leastI finally did show up to post it. My darling husband turned 36 years old on the 11th of April. He had a pretty uneventful birthday.....all he said he wanted for his birthday was milk duds so that is what he got. lol he's easy to please!!

Limbo

Don't you just hate being in limbo?? I feel like I've been in limbo for the last year.........things like When john gets better ....blah blah blah.......or when he gets back to work.....blah blah blah! when I get jake potty broke........ ect......
anyway it drives me nuts. But i am looking on the bright side........one of these days......lol we will be able to either fix our house or get another one........one of these days I will get motivated and lose weight........one of these days.

on the brighter side......John did get back to work and has been getting called everyday for the school board, he likes it and he got his first paycheck from them today so we are at least headed in the right direction. I guess it is also good that he is working a part-time job as well. delivering pizza's and he actually likes doing that too. He makes pretty good tips most of the time, helps that he is a people person. Oh and Jake is almost potty broke. He is doing pretty well on that front.
