Walking

Jake likes going for walks. When it's not raining we have been walking up the road with him in the evenings. This is Jake taking his daddy on a walk. :D

Bridey pictures

Here is Bridey getting something to eat before going to her friends mom's showing.
Here is Bridey before the funeral. I didn't take Jake but John went with her and he said he was very proud of her, she was a real grown up little lady at both.

Family fun night

Tuesday was the family fun night or Halloween party at the school. Ya know it gets under my skin that we can't call the holiday parties what they are because of politics. Anyway, it was from 6:30 till 8:30 we got up there around 5:45 or 6pm John volunteers at the school all the time. So he was up there all day from noon on setting up and we went up early to see him. Jake was so tired by the end of it he barely stayed awake long enough for me to change his diaper when we got home before he conked out. But it was fun. Both kid enjoyed it.

our second pumpkin

I finally got pictures of our second pumpkin downloaded so here it it is,

Here they both are together. took the picture outside in the dark so you can't really see the pumpkins but you can see the image lite up.

Jobs

Okay we are keeping our options open. John did sign up for disability but from what I've heard that could take forever even if he gets it, so the school board is hiring finally for custodians and cooks. They don't hire very often so he went ahead and put an application in for custodian. That shouldn't be to much for him, I'd think he could do that job. The only thing I can think that might cause a problem is running the buffer, it does jerk your arms around a bit so that might bother his shoulder but I'm hoping her can deal. I also put an application in for cook. I'd been wanting to do that for a few years now but this is the first time they have hired for cooks (that I have heard of) for several years. We also so in the paper this last week that a company called first colony in Marietta Oh. is hiring for crew leaders. It's for heavy equipment and highway contracting so harder work and probably something that he may not be able to do as well but it is a crew leader job so he could delegate a lot of it hopefully. He called them yesterday and they said he had all the qualifications they were looking for so we emailed his resume today. They pay between $16 to $32 an hour to start. So that part sound GREAT! The only bad part is that there is a LOT of traveling. So if he gets an interview we will see what all is involved.

Bridey's sad news

Bridey come home from school yesterday with some very sad news. Her friend Megan's mom died. She had cancer and just couldn't fight anymore. Bridey was feeling very sad for her friend of course. John took her to the showing last night so she could be there for her friend. She was very comforting to Megan, so that is very good. I'm very proud of her. She is wanting to go to the funeral today at 2 but I'm not sure. I think it would be good for her to be there for Megan and it would be good for Megan too, so she will probably go. But on the other hand, the mommy in me doesn't want her to miss school since she actually didn't know the mother, but she is friends with the daughter. I don't know, I'm sure I'll figure it out by this afternoon, I think if John can take her then she will probably go, I don't really want to take Jake. So if he can take her so I can stay with Jake at home then I guess she can go be there for her friend. Okay I know that didn't make a lot of since but I was figuring it out while typing! LOL

Our Pumpkin

Well we just finished carving the pumpkin for this year. It was the first time we have ever carved anything besides the traditional face. But I was very pleased how well it came out.

updates for the last two weeks

sorry, been busy and my mouse isn't working so it takes me FOREVER to get anywhere on my putter.
Bridey's birthday has come and gone. Thank GOODNESS! Her party was terrible. Only a few people showed up since I got the invites out late and her boyfriend was one of them. OH MY GOSH! I will never invite a boy to another party! He and his brother were there and it was terrible! Boys are brats!
John and I have also put our applications in at the school board for cook and custodian. So cross your fingers. well I will write more later, I am at mom's on her computer right now and I want to visit so I am out of here for now.

Bri's birthday

It is this Saturday coming up. I am hoping we can get it pulled off. We waited until the last minute to start planning anything. I didn't even get her invitations until Sunday. So I hope she has some friends show up since I was so late at getting things out! I have to order her cake either today or tomorrow and finish getting the plates and food in the next day or two. I feel bad for waiting until the last minute, I usually have her party planned a month a head of time. (Lawanda ---you all are invited, I think I sent ya an email telling you when and where)

Disability Update

Today was the day we signed John up for disability. The lady that did his claim was really nice. And said that since we had everything already put together and a letter from his doctor saying that she thought he should be on disability she said hopefully it wont take as long as most case to be decided on. Got my fingers crossed that it goes good and fast!!

birthday

Well I'm so old! LOL I turned 33 on Sunday. So I'll tell you all about it. (Thanks for asking how it was Lawanda! :D ) Being broke we didn't do anything really, but Bridey and John wee just the sweetest things. Started with breakfast in bed, then they did the house work for me and wouldn't let me help. They fixed lunch for me. John finished the last shelf I was waiting on for my bedroom. And then he and a a friend of his took off and came back with all sort of wood. I didn't have any idea what they were doing. When he finally got it unloaded he told me it was the wood he needed to start building on a room to the back of the house I have been wanting forever. A laundry room, so I don't have to go out to our outbuilding to dry clothes!! I was floored. I can't wait until they get it finished. It will probably be awhile, they can get the frame work done with what we have but electrical and plumbing will have to wait until we can afford to get the supplies. But at least it's a start! It was a really nice day!

lead update

Well we haven't gotten anything figured out yet. They still haven't been able to get blood from Jake. Friday was terrible on him, stuck him 4 tmes poor baby. We took him back monday but Jake has a medical card and it didn't come until our mail went monday at 5pm so when we took him in on Monday around noon they wouldn't take him and just bill later had to have the card right when they did the test so we are taking him in this afternoon. Hoping to get it over with!!
