Lead

I got a call yesterday from Jake's Doctor, his blood tests came back and his lead level is to high. She wanted him to come back in today to have another test taken. I had to have John go with me this time because when they took his blood last time he just screamed and screamed, broke my heart. Well this time was no better, worse even since they couldn't get his blood today. They stuck him 4 times but still didn't get it. So they want me to bring him back Monday afternoon to try again. Ugh! I am not happy, I mean that poor baby just screamed and yelled for mama....he wasn't the only one crying by the end of the Dr's visit. I was cry almost as much as he was. I just am not sure were he would have gotten lead in his system. We do have an old house but has been painted 3 times since we moved in so there shouldn't be any lead paint showing anywhere. I have checked the toy recall list land he doesn't have any of the toys that were recalled because of the lead paint.....although I did read that remodeling of old buildings could let lead loose in the air. The church I am cleaning has been remodeling a little. They have done 2 or 4 rooms so far. Jake isn't there when the work is going on but he is there with me when I am cleaning up the mess afterward. So that is the only place I could even imagine that he would get anywhere near lead.

Bridey and BunnyBoo

This is Bridey and her bunny that the neighbor gave to her. It was dressed different when they gave it to her, she had to dress it in her clothes, but a wig on it and give it her purse.

She played and played with this silly thing. But as long as it keeps her occupied that is all that matters!

Finally!! Repairs!

finally our house is getting a little work done. For those of you that don't know, our house is very small and very in need of LOTS and LOTS of work. Since John has had his health problems we haven't done anything. So it has gotten worse and worse. Even the yard was in major need of attention. Well since I haven't had to run everyday this last week, John
and I got busy. The yard look like a yard again, we started staining the porch a color I am so in love with! We have gotten the living room painted and most of the trim. The medicine cabinet that we have had for the last year has finally gotten installed. I am so excited that things are getting done. John has even built the shelves I have been wanting FOREVER in my bedroom, granted they aren't beautiful but at this point I do not care as long as i have shelf space and now I do!

Bridey and Bigfoot

On the 15th of the month Bridey got to meet bigfoot! lol

She was so excited and so was her Dad. (rolling eyes) Men and trucks.I don't get it. Why do they have to make them so big?? What is the point, I wonder.....

Well anyway, Bridey was thriller. I just can't believe how big it was. Bridey fit right under it, heck the tires were bigger than she is.

mom back to normal

Yes, mom had to go back to the hospital. They had given her some pain medication after the last surgery and then released her after a day and a half. When we got her home she couldn't do anything. She couldn't walk, couldn't feed herself,dress herself,go to the bathroom herself, nothing. She had pretty much no idea what was going on around her. So back to the er she went. Spent ALL day there before they figured out she was allergic to the medication they gave her. soon as it was changed she is back to normal. Thank you god!

Menu Plans week 9/17 --- 9/23

Monday - Baked Pork chops, Mashed potato's, pork-n-beans

Tuesday - Ham, scalloped potato's (a baked potato for John he doesn't like scalloped), green beans

Wednesday - Chicken Parmesan, broccoli

Thursday - Soup beans, corn bread

Friday - Pepper steak, corn

Saturday - don't cook

Sunday - fried deer meat, mac-n-cheese (for John and Bridey I don't like it) taco salad for me!

Disability

Well, finally we are on the road to sign John up for disability. I know it may take quite a while to get it to go through, but at least we have started the process. Been talking to his doctors getting everything gathered up for his appointment with disability on Oct. 2nd.

JAKE'S FIRST BIRTHDAY

My baby turned a year old on the 7th. We had John's family over for cake and gifts. My mom had just had the first procuder with trying to get the pacemaker leds to reattach so she didn't didn't feel like coming in and I did tell the rest of my family they could come but they decided to just wait and we had a party the next day at mom's. He did really well at opening his gifts. I remember it took forever for us to get Bridey to even try on her first birthday. Jake went right to it though.

Boy is it starting.......

Bridey and boys. UGH!!! Bridey had boys calling her, giving her bracelets, asking her to dances, and asking her to come to their house already. And sadly they are different boys.. She has one little boy that has liked her since first grade. He always asks her to dance when the school dances are going on. Then she has another boys always wanting her to eat lunch with him. Now she has one giving her bracelets and the boy she liked last year asking her to go places with him. The picture is of Bridey with Noah, the boy she liked last year and so far this year. We took the picture when she went to church with him in April. He has went to dinner with us at John's parents house, Bridey has been to his house a couple of times and they have been to church together several times. I was hoping this wouldn't happen until at least junior high school.

Bridey and tryouts

Bridey had tried out for basketball and choir already this year at school. She is also wanting to go out for track again in the spring. Well sadly she didn't make the basketball team, which I'm not surprised really. She is good at shooting hoops but we have never played a real game with her and she didn't know how to cover somebody or well any of the game stuff.
She did make choir though. So she was happy about that. I'm glad she made at least one of the two. And in truth glad she didn't make both!

Mom back in hospital

These last two weeks without Internet have been busy ones for me. Mom had to go back into the hospital a week and a half ago to have the lead wire for her pacemaker reattached. Well it didn't work, they couldn't get it to attach anywhere.....so they had to schedule another surgery to go in under her breast though her rib cage and attach it directly to her heart. More complicated procedure....although I felt pretty good about it, she had the same surgeon John had for his valve replacement. He is a very good doctor and a very nice guy! They had to put her in the hospital 3 days ahead of time to get her lungs built up so she could survive the surgery, her lungs are in terrible shape since she has COPD. She had the surgery yesterday and did well. The ventilator came off yesterday right after the surgery, which we were worried about how long she would have to be on it they kept telling us with her lungs being so bad they'd have to take her off of it very slowly, but she did better then they wee expecting and they took it right out, and the chest tube was out today. She should get to come home this weekend or by Monday at the latest. She is a tuff ole bird!! Thanks to god!

Hven't had internet for two weeks

Tonight is the first night I have been back online. Two weeks ago i finally talked John into rearranging our living room. Well for the Internet to hook up were we put the computer he had to go under the house to move the cable(it goes up under the our house through the floor so it isn't laying all over the floor in the house). So of course two weeks later I got him to do it today. But at least my living room finally looks good and has more room and now I can get back online!

When I do get back online, I read on a friends blog that her grandma died 2 days ago. I feel terrible for her and terrible that I didn't know until now. So i just want to tell her I am thinking of her, I love her..she is a great friend and if she needs anything to let me know!

Monday - Spaghetti, Texas cheese toast, salad and corn

Tuesday - Baked steak, mashed potato's w/gravy, green beans

Wednesday - BBQ beef ribs, Cajun rice, corn on cob

Thursday - hot dogs, mac -and- cheese, pork-n-beans

Friday - chili and grilled cheese sandwiches (Jake's birthday so cake and ice cream will be included)

Saturday - I don't cook because I spend the day at my mom's

Sunday - steak on the grill,broccoli, mashed potato's with cheese and onions

Menus

well after reading Lawanda's blog awhile back I started doing the menus for our meals. It is working out really well. I've done it for the past two weeks. I followed it every day except one. And we went to my in laws for dinner that evening so of course I didn't cook. So this morning I sat down and planned our meals for the entire month of Sept. hope I Can stick with it. I really am enjoying it. So thanks Lawanda!

Sink bathing

The church has been doing some construction lately, drywall and such, Jake was crawling threw it the other day when i was working so i stripped him down and stuck him in the kitchen sink to get cleaned up before I left for the day.
He loves baths and splashing in the
water, I had another mess to clean

before going home but it was worth it.
